Don got his spray paint from a Dollar Tree

from a pallet in the back of the store.

He prefers darker tones, the better to pop.

Tony has an endless supply of primer,

gray from his Mom’s garage.

He brushes his

name. Always uphill.

The paints hug the buoy

soothe its pockmarked face

curved toward Canada.
